Team Lead, Business Development

Reporting to the VP Marketing, our Team Lead. Business Development will have the vital role of developing and managing a high-performing BDR team while ensuring we meet our targets for booked sales meetings and pipeline generated. Partnering with our Demand Generation and Sales teams, this individual will work to align on account strategies to ensure we build long term relationships. At the same time, they’ll get our messaging and tactics dialled in to book qualified meetings from the high volume of leads generated by our demand generation team. 

What you will own:

  • Testing and refining our inbound and outbound outreach strategy
  • Training team to book qualification and discovery meetings
  • Work on account strategy and align on prosepcting targets with our sales team
  • Messaging, talking points and call script development
  • Manage our BDR-related reporting
  • People Management and Team Building 
  • Reporting and Data Analysis
  • Influence strategic decisions made across the Marketing team as a member our of leadership group

About Your Experience:

  • 3+ years Sales or Business Development Experience with a track record of success
  • 2-3 years of people management experience in a Sales or Business Development Function
  • Experience in public sector sales or business development is a plus. 
  • Strong communicator with a passion for coaching and mentorship
  • Outside-the-box thinker, willing to test and experiment to improve team performance
  • A robust and empathetic leader with an ability to motivate your team
  • Experience working with larger, more complex accounts
  • Career motivated, looking for an opportunity to make a mark and move quickly through a fast-growing organization
  • Experience working in Salesforce, Salesloft, Linkedin Lead Navigator, Vidyard or equivalent tools

This role is perfect for a strong communicator, someone who knows how to lead with structure and empathy. This is not a dial for dollars role or team, the clients this team manages are sophisticated and the sales cycle is long, relationship nurturing is critical and building a deep and long-standing foundation with potential clients is of the utmost importance.

Our BDR team is compensation on an 80/20 base to commission structure, to emphasis the importance of building long standing relationships.

- Experience in selling within the public sector
