Equal Education Partners is seeking a Teacher of Science, on behalf of our partner Client, an esteemed 11-19 school, currently in an exciting phase of growth and development. With a significant £4.5 million investment in facilities, they are looking to enhance their dynamic staff team who will nurture and educate 1600 students by 2025. We are eager to welcome a dedicated and well-qualified Teacher of Science to commence in September 2024, or sooner if available.

Science Department

The Science curriculum caters to students from 11-18 years old, accommodating all levels of ability. In the initial years, students are taught in mixed ability groups, progressing to options of Separate Sciences and Combined Science at KS4, following the OCR Gateway syllabus. At Sixth Form level, students have the opportunity to study AQA Biology, OCR A Chemistry, and OCR B Physics.

The department is richly resourced and focuses on enhancing the educational opportunities for the students. Practical experiments play a central role in the teaching approach, fostering a spirit of inquiry in every lesson. Their dedicated team strives to inspire a lasting interest in Science among all students. Supportive measures include a robust science technician team and a mentoring program for new and recently qualified teachers. They have effective systems in place for monitoring student progress, and teachers enjoy the benefits of working in a collaborative and supportive environment.

Teaching Role

The ideal candidate will be an outstanding classroom practitioner with a specialism in Biology, capable of teaching up to KS5. The role involves contributing to the development and refinement of teaching materials, with opportunities to bring fresh ideas to the table. The successful candidate will possess a genuine enthusiasm for educating young people and a commitment to their holistic development. The school values the form tutor role as integral to student support and development, and teachers are expected to fulfill this role with dedication.
