What we are looking for:

The role of North America (NA) Tax Manager is newly created is response to increasing number of entities and complexities of the US/Canada operations of KRAFTON.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and/or review quarterly and annual income tax provisions for Krafton NA entities.
  • Model tax impact and properly reflect changes of accounting pronouncements, accounting standards updates, federal, state, and international income tax law changes.
  • Prepare and/or review federal, state and local tax returns, sales and use tax returns, and other miscellaneous returns of Krafton NA entities, including detailed supporting schedules and work papers.
  • Prepare and/or review quarterly estimated tax payments and extension payments Krafton NA entities.
  • Be point of contact for tax credit projects including R&D tax credit (Section 174) and FDII; Coordinate with internal R&D teams.
  • Work with accounting firm on annual transfer pricing documentation.
  • Assist with special projects such as implantation of tax planning, provision & compliance processes, analysis of income tax consequences of transactions, acquisitions, and divestitures, and projects relating to other business initiatives.
  • Respond to federal and state income tax notices/audit requests, be the point of contact for tax authorities.
  • Assist with employment tax (i.e. payroll tax).
  • Support expats’ US income tax filling.
  • Prepare withholding tax return for U.S. sourced income for Krafton US entities (i.e., Form 1042 reporting packages).
  • Deal with Permanent Establishment issues as needed.
  • Assist with Korea HQ’s US income tax returns (federal & state).
  • Collaborate with Krafton HQ Tax Team in relation to Global minimum Tax initiative (i.e., Pillar Two).
  • Advise and guide on tax-related matters including being tax reviewer on contracts/agreements.
  • File Form 1099 for Krafton US entities.
  • Prepare internal tax documentation as required.

Qualifications:

  • Five working years in the corporate tax function at a private company and/or accounting firm.
  • Experience in preparing federal (Form 1120) and state income tax returns.
  • Experience in special tax topics such as R&D credit, FDII and transfer pricing.
  • Experience in income tax provisions as part of financial statement preparation.
  • Experience in tax compliance with companies whose HQ is incorporated in Korea is a plus.
  • Bilingual in English & Korean; able to communicate with HQ Tax Team in Korean language.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment and manage and coordinate assigned projects independently.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented.
  • Experience with SAP ERP is a plus.
