Tax Manager
The Tax Manager will take the lead in shaping and managing all tax-related functions for Milence across Europe, with a focus on indirect tax. We are looking for a highly skilled tax professional with extensive knowledge of European and international tax regulations. As part of a key player in a rapidly growing sector, you will have the opportunity to navigate complex tax landscapes, drive strategic efficiencies, and contribute to the future of sustainable transportation in Europe.
As Tax Manager, you will collaborate closely with finance, operational, and legal teams, and external tax advisors to ensure compliance, minimize tax exposure, and enhance tax efficiency across various European jurisdictions. You will be a tax specialist with a strategic mindset, hands-on mentality, and a strong commitment to advancing green infrastructure in the logistics and transport sectors.
Your responsibilities include:
· Developing and implement proactive tax strategies to support business growth and maximize tax efficiencies. Ensuring adherence to tax regulations in various European jurisdictions, including timely and accurate filing of VAT, corporate income tax, and other relevant tax returns.
· Ensuring proper structuring of transactions and supply chains to optimize the tax position while meeting compliance requirements (e.g. leases, movement of goods).
· Setting up tax in the systems to ensure correct and complete registration of taxable transactions.
· Monitoring and mitigate tax risks associated with new European tax policies, especially those focused on sustainable energy and transportation.
· Building, implementing and maintaining the Milence Tax Control Framework to ensure accurate reporting and compliance with all relevant tax laws and regulations, including policies, procedures and guidelines.
· Working with external advisors to oversee audits, assessments, and tax investigations as required.

· Providing strategic advice on tax implications for new projects and acquisitions, market expansions, and large-scale capital investments in infrastructure.
· Own transfer pricing policies and practices, ensuring alignment with European and international guidelines for cross-border activities.
· You are a trusted advisor to the business, providing guidance on tax implications for contracts, supplier agreements, and other strategic decisions.
· Collaborating with finance and operations teams on cash flow forecasting, tax provisions, and budgeting.
· Supporting strategic initiatives, including M&A, fundraising, and business expansion activities. Ensuring alignment of financial strategies with overall company goals.
· Offer insights on tax-related issues related to the lifecycle of charging stations, such as installation, maintenance, and long-term operational costs.
· Staying updated on trends and developments in the electric vehicle (EV) and electric truck charging industry, specifically in the tax and regulatory landscape.
Who are we are looking for?
· You will have at least 5 years in European tax management, with experience in infrastructure, energy, or sustainable technology sectors.
· You hold a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related field. A Master’s degree in Taxation or a professional tax certification (e.g., CTA, ADIT) is highly preferred.
· You bring precision in tax reporting and compliance is critical to ensure accuracy and avoid risks.
· You have the ability to align tax policies and strategies with the long-term goals of a high-growth industry.
· You are fluent in English and have strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate and collaborate with finance, operations, and external advisors.
· You have strong familiarity with VAT and cross-border tax regulations in Europe, and a good understanding of transfer pricing and CIT.
· You have a genuine passion for sustainability.
· You have a comprehensive understanding of EU and local tax legislation, particularly in the fields of sustainable energy and large-scale infrastructure.
· You have a high proficiency in tax software and ERP systems. Microsoft Business Central is a big plus.
· You have strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with an aptitude for navigating complex tax issues.
· You are a strategic thinker with a proactive, hands-on approach. Highly organized and detail-oriented, you maintain a strong focus on achieving results.
