We are seeking a Tax Manager with broad experience in S-Corporations, Partnerships, and Individual taxation with expertise in C-Corporation taxation to join our dynamic team. This position requires a blend of technical proficiency and leadership qualities to effectively manage tax compliance, tax provision, and consulting services for our corporate clients. We are looking for a well-versed individual who exhibits excellent interpersonal, communication, and management skills.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and review Form 1120 for standalone corporate entities, consolidated groups, and multistate corporations.
- Perform quarterly estimated tax calculations for large corporations, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Prepare and review tax provision calculations under ASC-740, including accurate accounting for business combinations, valuation allowance analyses, and FIN48 reserves.
- Provide expertise in corporate reorganizations and mergers & acquisition (M&A) transactions, analyzing the tax implications of stock vs asset deals, treatment of transaction costs, and available elections (e.g., 338(g), 338(h)(10), 336(e)).
- Participate in due diligence processes related to M&A transactions (both sell-side and buy-side), assessing tax risks and opportunities.
- Utilize strong research and problem-solving skills to address complex tax issues and provide innovative solutions.
- Communicate effectively, both written and verbally, with clients and team members to ensure clarity and understanding.
- Demonstrate prior experience in successfully managing and mentoring a team of tax professionals.
- Employ excellent project management skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines efficiently.
- Stay abreast of evolving tax laws and regulations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required; a Master’s in Taxation is a plus.
- CPA, JD, or EA license is required.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive tax compliance and consulting experience in public accounting, with a strong focus on the preparation and review of Form 1120.
- Proficiency in tax provision calculations under ASC-740 is essential.
- Demonstrated expertise in mergers & acquisitions (M&A) and corporate reorganizations.
- Excellent research and problem-solving skills to tackle complex tax issues effectively.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with clients and team members.
- Prior experience in managing and leading teams, demonstrating effective leadership abilities.
- Proficient project management skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines efficiently.
- Outstanding collaboration, communication, organization, and analytical skills.

- The estimated salary range for this positions is $110,000 to $175,000. Individual salaries are determined through multiple factors permitted by law including but not limited to experience, education, licensure/certification, knowledge, skills and qualifications. WG also offers a comprehensive benefits package and performance award (bonus) eligibility where you’ll be recognized and rewarded based on your performance.
