Tax Director

This is a highly visible role, responsible for overseeing all aspects of tax, and providing guidance for the broader finance team, and serving as liaison between the company, external auditors and tax consultants. This position will be based in New York. We are looking for a team player with a positive "can do" attitude, showing an initiative to develop company’s tax function and transition tax services from external providers in house. This individual enjoys thinking through complex tax topics and breaking them down for the wider finance team.
What You Will Do:
  • Responsible for accounting for income taxes in the US and International subsidiaries, quarterly and annual tax provision.
  • Tax disclosures and footnotes for SEC filings
  • Lead FIN 48 analysis
  • GILTI calculations
  • Tax SOX compliance and process improvements
  • Responsible for assessing complex one off tax matters/transactions
  • Responsible for compliance, planning and filings for all tax matters
  • Coordinate preparation of annual federal, state, international and local tax returns
  • Research impact and assess risk on various tax issues; write and support tax position papers
  • Perform tax planning and due diligence for issues related to future potential acquisitions
  • Manage the preparation of transfer pricing documentation (foreign subsidiaries) and implementation policies
  • Work with external consultants as needed
  • Research and assist with tax matters related to sales and use tax, payroll tax.
What You Will Need:
  • Master’s Degree in Business Taxation preferred
  • CPA preferred
  • At least ten years of related experience. Public company experiences preferred
  • Ability to work independently and effectively, fully owning the tax function
  • Ability to be an individual contributor (preparation of the tax provision) and a reviewer
  • Thorough knowledge of US GAAP and tax accounting
  • International tax experience preferred
  • On top of developing tax trends and being able to anticipate future tax needs.

  • The base pay range for this position is $175,000 - 200,000 per year. The determination of what a specific employee in this job classification is paid and titled depends on a number of factors, including, but not limited to, prior employment history/job-related knowledge, qualifications and skills, length of service, and geographic location.
  • This position is eligible for quarterly bonuses based on specified benchmarks, in accordance with all applicable bonus terms and conditions
