ROLE

We are looking for an experienced Tax Associate with experience with Brazilian direct and indirect taxes to manage and oversee tax compliance and planning activities of the group’s Brazilian entities. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of tax accounting and local tax laws and regulations. 

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual tax provision calculations for direct and indirect tax.
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of tax-related items in financial statements.
  • Maintain accurate and organized records of all tax-related documents.
  • Prepare detailed tax reports and schedules for internal and external audits – previous experience with SOX is a plus.
  • Prepare and review corporate income tax and indirect tax returns in Brazil 
  • Ensure timely filing of tax returns and related compliance documentation. 
  • Monitor direct and indirect tax payments.
  • Liaise with external auditors and tax advisors as necessary.
  • Manage tax audits and inquiries from tax authorities.
  • Prepare and provide necessary documentation and responses to tax authorities.

WHO YOU ARE

  • Degree in Accounting Sciences, Administration, or Law
  • Postgraduate degree or specialization in Brazilian tax area
  • Have at least 5 years of experience in the tax area with proven experience as an analyst or in similar positions in Brazilian taxes
  • Solid knowledge of tax legislation, including ICMS, ISS, IPI, IRPJ, CSLL, PIS, and COFINS, and withheld taxes
  • Experience with calculating taxes and ancillary obligations
  • Proficiency in tax compliance and accounting software (Dynamics 365 and SAP)
  • Strong level of English
