What does it take to become a Civican?

Exceptional opportunity for an experienced and dynamic DevOps Developer to join Civica based in Australia. As part of our high performing Local Government business unit, you will be an integral hands-on addition to the already established team. Supported by senior leadership this permanent role will see you focus on script development and process automation. Collaborating with various stakeholders you will display exceptional communication skills with the ability to translate technical requirements and bridge the gap between development and our customers. You will bring your solid experience with various tools and design artefacts and in particular, you will have strong scripting and Linux experience. Responsibilities

  • Building and automating on application build, release, configuration management and deployment over both on-prem and cloud based infrastructure.
  • Work as DevOps Engineer as a part of scrum teams on software delivery projects.
  • Act as a technical escalation and provide L2/L3 for customer support requests.
  • Monitor, respond and report on environment (application, platform & infrastructure) metrics in accordance with agreed customer SLAs for availability, performance and capacity.
  • Be part of the on-call support team to perform releases, ad-hoc service requests and incident recovery during out of hours and public holidays.
  • Developing infrastructure as a code (IaC) via scripting, automation, CI/CD pipelines, orchestration.

About You

We are looking for a highly capable and technically hands on experience DevOps Developer. You will also have:

  • Hands-on experience on AWS and/or Azure design, implementation, optimization, and support of cloud infrastructure.
  • Linux and Windows sysadmin skills, scripting with Perl / Python / PowerShell, integration with IaC.
  • Demonstrable advanced application debugging (Microsoft IIS .NET technology stack) and troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience in incident, problem, capacity and change management (ITIL desirable) and ability to maintain technical documentation and CI records in accordance with changes made.
  • Good communication, coordination and interpersonal skills, and ability to work with internal / external stakeholders spreading in different time zones and geographical locations.
