ChildServe has an opening for an Employee Relations Specialist II to support our growing organization. This team member will partner with, support and provide guidance to employees and leaders related to the following Talent Management Model Systems: engagement, retention, concern resolution performance management, workforce structure, compliance, total rewards/compensation, and workplace culture.
What You'll Do
Staff Relations and Engagement
- Partner with leaders to recommend improvements on human resources policies, processes, and systems.
- Address staff concerns and grievances promptly, ensuring fair and consistent resolution processes. Conducting thorough revies, assessments, and investigations as needed.
- Foster a positive workplace culture by recommending and implementing staff relations practices and promoting open communication and collaboration among staff.
- Organize team-building activities and recognition programs to celebrate achievements and strengthen relationships.
- Proactively conduct regular employee engagement and satisfaction assessments, using feedback to inform program improvements.
- Conduct systematic reviews of staff data and personnel file audits to verify adherence to established policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Provide independent support, training, and mentoring to leaders on performance management and the progressive discipline process and tools.
- Recommend corrective action to leaders promoting staff accountability for achieving successful performance outcomes and managing organizational risk.
- Assess the performance evaluation program for assigned services, and propose enhancements for improvement. recommendations for improvement.
Staff Compensation
- Provide guidance and support to leaders regarding the total compensation program.
- Review and approve job descriptions, conduct market wage analyses to establish wage ranges for positions, in accordance with policy and processes.
- Evaluate service pay practices to ensure compliance with federal wage and hour laws and organizational policies.
Program Improvement
- Offer leadership-level support for process improvement strategies using project management methodologies to deliver timely and high-quality results that meet objectives.
- Assess human resources policies, procedures, systems, and practices for compliance and efficiency, make cost-effective recommendations to leaders for effective solutions, and implement approved changes.
Leadership
- Supervise student workers, interns, and administrative staff as assigned.
- Manage relationships with student’s school or training program representatives.
What You'll Need
- BA or BS in Human Resources, Business, or related field required.
- Minimum 4 years’ experience in human resources required, including independent leader coaching.
- 1-2 years leading teams, preferred.
- Background in employment law and other government compliance regulations, required.
- Ability to travel independently in Iowa with limited frequency.
- Proven experience creating social media strategies to generate awareness.
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally in reading, writing, and speaking the English language.
- This position will be subject to COVID-19 safety requirements.
