We work a hybrid model here at McDonald's and are in the East Finchley office 3 days per week and remote for 2 days.
The Opportunity
The Talent Management Manager is expected to be a knowledgeable and capable HR professional who is adept at working with business partners to understand the company objectives, and to manage and improve Talent practices. They will be responsible for the following key areas within talent management:
- Corporate recruitment
- Training on performance management, Talent practices
- Talent review and succession planning
- Leadership development
What will my accountabilities be?
Talent Attraction
- Manage a team of four, who are responsible for filling corporate vacancies
- Work with Talent Attraction Partners to drive best practice in full-cycle recruitment model and the onboarding experience for corporate staff.
- Partner with Operations Talent team to align strategy and drive collaboration across the Talent Centre of Excellence.
- Partner with Talent Lead to develop a cohesive attraction strategy in alignment with business objectives.
Talent Management
- Support alignment between Talent Review, Performance Management & Reward processes locally to ensure both coherence and differentiated investment across the market – working in collaboration with People Partners and Reward.
- Support facilitation of market’s talent review and succession planning process.
- Partner with L&D to provide relevant training sessions on performance management, talent development and talent planning.
Leadership Development
- Ensure effective local plans are in place to accelerate the personal development of leadership and those identified as talent.
- Lead the implementation, evaluation, and continuous improvement of local talent development interventions to complement those offered globally:
- Development programmes
- Coaching and mentoring
- Assessments
- Liaise closely with colleagues in the Learning function to ensure synergies and alignment working in partnership on diagnosis & delivery of learning initiatives.
- Lead the selection of individuals to receive further development investment ensuring a connection with Performance Motivation & Talent Review.
Talent Training
- Working with the People Partners, educate managers about the BEST leadership model and ensure the BEST model is the central tool for defining & developing talent and making talent decisions.
- Deliver, maintain, and measure the impact of the Performance Motivation performance system in close collaboration with People Partners and Reward team.
- Educate and motivate managers and individuals to maximise the potential of the Performance Motivation system, the Talent Review process, and share up-to-date Talent materials.
What Team will I be a part?
You will part of the People Team.
Who are my customers?
Customers of this role will include corporate staff, department heads/directors and the broader People team. The role will liaise heavily with our HR Business Partnering team, as well as colleagues in other McDonald’s markets, and those working in global and segment functions. You will also work closely with external partners.
What background do I need to have?
- HR and talent management background, along with a working knowledge of talent attraction best practices.
- Understanding of talent management and experience of driving the Talent agenda across all levels of an organisation.
- You will need to be strategic, influential, and confident in building relationships with employees at all levels.
- Demonstrated experience facilitating training and coaching and advising others.
- Candidates must have demonstrated experience in managing teams and leading people
