Talent Development Program Manager

Vast is looking for a Talent Development Program Manager, reporting to the Director, Talent Development, to program manage talent solutions, facilitate engaging learning experiences, and create impactful learning content and programs across the business; all in service of our work to design and build artificial-gravity, human-rated space stations.

This will be a full-time, exempt position located in our Long Beach location. 

Responsibilities: 

Manage Talent Development and Learning Projects

  • Manage a limited number of enterprise-wide talent development and learning programs, initiatives, and projects (examples include: Engagement Surveys, Performance Management, Manager Development, and 
  • Onboarding) 
  • Effectively plan, communicate, and execute project plans across teams and departments 
  • Maintain project documentation and knowledge databases 
  • Collaborate with project team members to execute against deliverables and milestones 
  • Become the subject matter expert for core talent management technologies (performance system, learning management system, survey platform) ● Measure, monitor, evaluate, and report key organizational insights stemming from project data 

Design, Deliver, and Evaluate Learning Experiences 

  • Leverage training intake form data to scope learning opportunities across the business and propose innovative solutions 
  • Create comprehensive and targeted learning materials, including e-learning modules, job aids, and multimedia content. 
  • Incorporate adult learning theories to enhance the learning experience  Leverage content creation tools, eLearning software, and other editing programs to create engaging and interactive content 
  • Ensure consistency and a positive user experience across various learning modules and programs 
  • Partner with subject matter experts to fully assess, scope, and manage expectations of learning solutions
  • Facilitate in-person and virtual training 
  • Upload and actively manage LMS content to monitor learner registration, attendance, and completion of various compliance and training courses 
  • Synthesize reports and people data to understand training and development insights that will inform continuous improvement efforts

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 3-4 years of experience with instructional design, training content creation, and facilitation. 
  • 2-3 years of project management experience 
  • Interest in learning and development

Preferred Skills & Experience:

  • Aerospace industry experience 
  • Experience with Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Gmail) 
  • Learning Management System experience 
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment 
  • Ability to make independent judgments with limited information 
  • Communication skills for relaying data (verbally and in-writing) between other employees and vendors 
  • Logical and strategic approach to solving problems 
  • Comfortable working in a high-stress environment balancing several projects at any given time, and the flexibility to adjust for abrupt changes in strategic direction. 

Pay Ranges: 

  • $80,000 - $100,000
Salary Range: California
$80,000$100,000 USD

Base salary will vary depending on job-related knowledge, education, skills, experience, business needs, and market demand. Salary is just one component of our comprehensive compensation package. The person hired will have access to information and items subject to U.S. export controls, and therefore, must either be a “U.S. person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.62 or otherwise eligible for deemed export licensing.
