The Opportunity

The company has grown rapidly to a team of 130 people. As we move from startup to scale-up, we are investing in a range of initiatives and programmes that will drive sustainable growth with our people strategy at the heart of this. Our people priorities for 2025 are firmly focused on building the capabilities that will enable us to achieve our strategic goals, equipping our people with the skills, experiences and behaviours that will enable them to thrive and realise their potential where learning and development is a key differentiator in our employee value proposition.

We are looking for an experienced Talent Development Partner to join our People Team and be part of our ambition to empower our people to reach their potential and deliver the excellence our clients deserve. You will be joining a team of four, reporting to the Chief People Officer and working alongside our HR Manager, Talent Acquisition Manager and People Administrator.

We welcome applicants who wish to work part-time [4-day week or equivalent flexible working arrangement] or full-time.

What you will do

You will be a key partner for our Leadership Team and people leaders across the company, delivering high-quality solutions and advice that reflect our values and centre on providing a positive employee experience for all. You will play an integral role within a People Team that prides itself on proactively solving problems, acting as a thought partner, and driving change that enables the performance and development of our people and creating a fulfilling inclusive working environment in which all of our people can thrive.

Requirements

Your key responsibilities will include:

Developing a learning strategy - Create and execute learning programmes to support all levels and pathways that enable effective onboarding, in-role capability development, career progression and drive business performance.

Leading early talent development – Lead the design and support delivery of engaging early talent development programmes, including effective onboarding to ensure all new joiners are productive as quickly as possible.

Embedding a growth mindset - Embed and champion a strong learning culture that encourages continuous learning, self-driven development, innovation, cross-functional knowledge sharing, and collaboration across the company.

Partnering with senior stakeholders - Work closely with the Leadership Team to identify development needs and work with Capability Owners to create learning pathways that align with CHR’s strategic goals. Ensure a train-the-trainer approach is adopted for core capability areas where we have strong subject matter expertise in-house.

Building impactful learning programmes - Design, procure, and deliver engaging training opportunities, including coaching, online courses, workshops, and more, ensuring employees are equipped with the skills they need now and for the future. Evaluate external vendors, tools, and platforms, recommending those that best align with the company's needs and budget.

Designing for accessibility and inclusion - Leverage learning technologies to provide personalised, scalable, on-demand, learning solutions for all, always looking for ways to improve the user experience. Embed a blended learning [e.g. 70-20-10] approach to deliver a mix of formal, informal, and experiential learning.

Measuring impact – Establish and track key learning metrics to assess the effectiveness of learning solutions to ensure we're delivering real value and making data-driven decisions to iterate and optimise the learning experience and return on investment (ROI).

Leading organisation development - Coach and develop leaders and people managers across the business, helping them to build high-performing teams, lead through change and become agile and inclusive leaders who drive commercial success and enrich our culture. Lead organisational change initiatives related to talent development, ensuring successful adoption and integration of new programmes and practices. Design and deliver management and leadership development, team development and soft skills programmes in-house and, where required, sourcing external partners within budget.

Driving a strong performance culture – Partner with the HR Manager to ensure performance and development planning continues to set our people up for success and line managers are skilled and empowered to get the best out of their teams, working with individual managers when required.

Promoting EDI and wellbeing – Ensure our EDI commitments and wellbeing goals are embedded in learning programmes and ways of working. Collaborate with CHR taskforces and working groups, including external partners where appropriate, to ensure that initiatives effectively educate and upskill our people, and create a sense of belonging for all.

Who will thrive here?

You will bring a track record of building and delivering learning solutions that are personalised, accessible and inclusive. You are a natural collaborator who builds strong relationships at all levels whilst having the confidence to trust your expertise to drive outcomes that are measurable and strategically aligned with CHR’s goals. Experience in professional services and building consulting capabilities would be highly advantageous.

This role would suit someone who recognises the importance of partnering closely with the business as a customer of the people products they design and deliver. It is also the perfect opportunity for someone who values building meaningful relationships that demonstrate how a people team can truly enable business performance and client satisfaction. You will be someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, proactively seeking and acting upon feedback, showing empathy, supporting others, and embracing change to support continuous improvement.

You will also bring a demonstrable track record of:

  • Delivering blended and innovative learning solutions, created in partnership with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Designing and delivering needs-based development, demonstrating strong presentation and facilitation skills.
  • Building capability at all levels, from early talent to leadership development and everything in between.
  • Being a strong communicator with the ability to build relationships at all levels.
  • A solution-focused mindset with strong project management and analytical skills.
  • Being a proactive team player as well as having the ability to work autonomously.
  • Being creative and highly self-driven with a positive, can-do attitude and adaptable to change.
  • Understanding and leveraging learning and performance technologies.
