Please note that this position is based in either San Diego, CA, or Princeton, NJ. Acadia's hybrid model requires this role to work in our office three days per week on average.

Position Summary:

The Specialist, Talent Development & Engagement is responsible for People and Performance (P&P) efforts, specific to the development, coordination, and execution of initiatives focused on employee engagement, recognition, learning and development, wellness, and special P&P projects. This role is also responsible for supporting and enhancing P&P communications efforts to the employee population.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Supports Engagement Survey efforts, including system management and administration of all lifecycle surveys (onboarding, exit, annual employee experience and occasional pulse surveys).
  • Organizes a regular cadence to review lifecycle survey results within P&P and other stakeholders, as necessary.
  • Coordinates effective response efforts and solutions to employee feedback.
  • Organizes and executes employee engagement events including working closely with vendors, stakeholders, speakers, participants, etc., across all Acadia locations.
  • Administers the process for reward and recognition programs including service awards, peer-to-peer recognition, and monetary reward programs. Manages the reward and recognition platform and produces reports.
  • Analyzes program and event effectiveness and makes recommendations for improvement.
  • Prepares communications and promotional strategies to raise awareness and educate employees on P&P initiatives.
  • Maintains communications plan and supports the team to stay on track of deployment deadlines.
  • Partners with the corporate communications team to further embed Acadia’s culture through ongoing employee communications.
  • Creates content the company intranet and social community groups, to promote initiatives, learning, events, welcome new hires, and recognize accomplishments.
  • Tracks and maintains wellness funds in partnership with the Benefits team.
  • Manages the wellness platform and designs programs to support wellbeing globally.
  • Supports the execution of the new hire orientation program.
  • Maintains learning resources including toolkits, job aids, and participant guides.
  • Coordinates all talent development programs, workshops, and webinars including scheduling, sending pre and post work, communications to participants, printing of materials, and partnering with supporting teams.
  • Maintains the Learning Management System including setting up courses, running reports and tracking completion.
  • Manages the execution of new contracts within our systems and ensures vendors are paid on time for all talent development and engagement initiatives.
  • Communicates with vendors and external partners to ensure needs are being met.

Education/Experience/Skills:

Bachelor’s degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and applicable job experience may be considered. A minimum of 4 years’ human resources experience. Prior experience in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry is preferred.

Must Possess:

  • Experience in successfully developing and managing live events.
  • Strong organizational/project management skills with the ability to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with major social media platforms, digital tools and system management.
  • Experience in engaging multiple business partners and stakeholders and driving to alignment and action; along with experience in planning and supporting large, cross-functional efforts.
  • Disciplined self-starter; resourceful and able to prioritize (and re-prioritize) in a fast-paced environment with shifting objectives.
  • Demonstrated experience working with and managing work of external vendors.
  • Ability to work effectively as an individual contributor and as part of a team.
  • High level of integrity and the ability to maintain confidential information.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal/written and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in using the latest versions of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint

Physical Requirements:

This role involves regular standing, walking, sitting, and the use of hands for handling or operating equipment. The employee may also need to reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and maintain visual, verbal, and auditory communication both in a standard office environment and while working independently from remote locations. Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.  This position requires the ability to travel independently overnight and/or work after hours as required by travel schedule or business needs.

In addition to a competitive base salary, this position is also eligible for discretionary bonus and equity awards based on factors such as individual and organizational performance. Actual amounts will vary depending on experience, performance, and location. 

Salary Range
$58,000$72,900 USD
