This role requires employees to complete an online Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS), including The Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) checks for criminal convictions.

UKIFS is leading the STEP (Spherical Tokamak for Energy Production) programme to deliver the world’s first prototype fusion energy plant by 2040, driving a path to the commercial viability of fusion. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Partnering with stakeholders: Collaborate closely with hiring managers and business leaders to ensure recruitment aligns with our strategic objectives, shaping roles that fit UKIFS’ long-term needs.
  • Enhancing candidate and employee experience: Design and implement best-in-class recruitment, onboarding, and retention processes to ensure seamless integration for new hires and foster ongoing engagement.
  • Job design & workforce planning: Play a crucial role in job evaluation, ensuring roles are clearly defined and fairly structured, while also planning for future workforce needs.
  • Innovative recruitment: Develop creative, data-driven recruitment strategies to source hard-to-fill roles, bringing in top talent to meet the challenges of a growing, world-changing organisation.
  • Onboarding excellence: Lead efforts to build an efficient onboarding process that reflects our Employee Value Proposition (EVP) and creates a positive experience for every new joiner.

What You’ll Bring

  • CIPD Level 5 qualification or equivalent
  • Proven experience in talent acquisition, especially in hard-to-fill and specialist roles
  • Strong expertise in recruitment processes, onboarding, job evaluation, and workforce planning
  • Ability to collaborate effectively, manage stakeholder relationships, and drive positive outcomes
  • A passion for creating an inclusive, values-driven workplace
