The Role: Systems Support

Systems Support is responsible for using production planning best practices to support Manufacturing in achieving optimized production schedules. The System Support role will utilize the planning systems to generate daily/weekly production plans and firm production schedules ensuring that we optimize people, equipment, and process. The System Support role must have strong computer skills, good knowledge of scheduling and excellent communication skills. The System Support role is responsible for maintaining all incoming and outgoing inventory for the department required by production. This includes the request of raw materials, produce as well as sundries required by the Compounders and Production Assistants to produce Lush products.

Reporting to the Production Lead, the Systems Support is responsible for the following RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Engages with a production room and Master scheduler to develop the optimal sequence of products, minimize changeover times, and appropriate batch sizes to maximize efficiencies. 
  • Proactively communicates with the Master Scheduler any room capacity changes, preventative maintenance windows, and labour/material constraints. 
  • Analyze the rooms performance to attainment and fulfilment and be part of the team to improve the process. 
  • Generate daily production schedules and distribute to RMT, Floor Supervisors, Compounding and Distro/Good’s-In teams 
  • As necessary revise, daily production plans based on changes component / raw material availability or consumer demand, while maintaining accurate and up-to-date inventory for the site
  • Ensure that production plans and schedules are set accurately to ensure optimized customer fulfilment and freshness 
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure that necessary raw materials and components are available on time to meet production demands 
  • Demonstrate continuous improvement abilities by reviewing processes and making refinements to continuously evolve effectiveness of Lush planning processes in conjunction with the rooms capacity and routes 
  • Work with Purchase Order and Transfer Order receivers to ensure lines are received and discrepancies are fixed and reported 
  • Responsible for shipping and receiving of purchase orders and transfer orders 
  • Monitor and maintain stock levels while aiding in production planning and ensure materials are available 
  • Double check all incoming goods for quality and accuracy before receiving 
  • Compile and publish inventory reports 
  • Manage control measures to ensure mistakes, inaccuracies and discrepancies are addressed and resolved 
  • Lead monthly and year end inventory cycle counts and ensure that all stock is counted and accounted for 
  • Supports the implementation and maintenance of Good Manufacturing Practices in manufacturing
  • Maintain sampling and inspection area, including keeping it stocked with sampling supplies 
  • Perform routine inspections of material storage areas for GMP compliance, including verification all materials are labelled according to Lush Standards 
  • Create and maintain up to date master samples to establish a reference for product quality
  • Collect and log samples from incoming raw material deliveries for evaluation
