Systems Engineer

THE ROLE: As a Systems Engineer, you are in an intermediate-level position that may include traditional systems engineering functions,  human-systems integration (HSI), and/or model-based systems engineering (MBSE) scope. In this role, you will work semi-independently under the guidance of more senior team members to apply MTI’s user-centered research, analysis, design, and  development process. Your primary focus will be on maturing your skills while applying SE principles to create highly-effective  solutions for complex, critical missions Your Responsibilities:
  • Identify, evaluate, decompose, and maintain traceability of stakeholder requirements, program requirements, and compliance standards.
  • Develop, analyze, and document system architecture and interfaces, particularly as related to user interface components and system functionality that supports user effectiveness.
  • Conduct trade studies, course of action analyses, and other technical decisions. 
  • Document systems engineering practices and implement them effectively.
  • Participate in technical meetings to provide systems engineering expertise and analysis.
  • Support the development of compliant and user-centric solutions that effectively meet mission needs.
  • Using model-based systems engineering and digital engineering tools and practices, create descriptive, analytical, and simulation models of systems.
  • Integrate HSI domains, with other system considerations, and throughout the project.
  • Contribute to the development of quality, effective systems engineering documentation. Actively engage in knowledge sharing and skill development within the team while building a rapport and collaborative working relationship with coworkers
  • Your Experience:
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a US DoD Security Clearance
  • A bachelor's degree in a technical or engineering field.
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience generally required.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to articulate SE concepts and recommendations to diverse audiences.
  • Desire to advance expertise in human-centered SE.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively and positively as part of a high-performing team.
