Systems Engineer Level 3

The System Engineer shall be responsible for overseeing the engineering and management aspects of HPC systems to make sure that all the architected components are properly installed, configured, and integrated as defined in the HPC system architecture. This position requires excellent interpersonal and communication skills as the System Engineer shall be responsible for collaborating with other program personnel and communicating to USG stakeholders and senior executives.

What you will need

  • Proficiency using the Linux CLI
  • Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python) to automate tasks
  • General HPC technical knowledge regarding compute, network, memory, and storage components
  • Experience with Configuration Management principles and concepts
  • Experience with CI/CD principles, concepts, best practices, and tools such as GitLab CI
  • Experience with IaC (Infrastructure as Code) principles, concepts, and automation tools such as Ansible
  • Familiar with Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles and applications
  • Experience managing or contributing to large-scale projects, including timelines, deliverables, and resource allocation
  • Experience with Metrics and Monitoring software frameworks used for searching, monitoring, and analyzing data

Desired Skills

  • Experience with the Atlassian Tool Suite (JIRA, Confluence)
  • Experience with Git Version Control

 

Qualifications: Twenty (20) years' experience as a SE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type and complexity is required. Demonstrated experience in planning and leading Systems Engineering efforts is required. Bachelor's degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required. Five (5) years of additional SE experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.

Clearance: Active TS/SCI with an appropriate polygraph is required to be considered for this role

 

Salary range:
$138,894.00 - $307,825.00 (Annually)*
