As a Systems Engineer III for Flexera Platform; I will:
- Maintain and Support Tesco’s Flexera platform for Compliance and Software Catalogue.
- Manage Roadmaps; KPI’s and budget related to the technical areas; I am responsible for.
- Collaborate with other teams across all of Tesco Technology and ensure tool deployment; service and compliance.
- Drive Service Improvements with operations engineering and bring operational excellence.
- Define & implement simple management summary from complex technical topics and drive logical decisions at all levels within Tesco.
- Owning all technical aspects of Flexera Platform and Tool.
Job Responsibilities:
- Flexera agent deployment management across platforms; troubleshooting agent deployment issues and resolving them.
- Flexera systems; services monitoring & configuration management
- Creating and maintaining online compliance report
- Managing FNMS Infrastructure including Application; Database; Inventory Beacon & Reporting Servers; Upgrades etc
- Managing Business Adapters & Data Imports
- FNMS Dashboard management
- Flexera AppPortal Administration activities
- Creating &configuring Catalogue items
- Creating & configuring Workflow Family; Workflow Groups & Workflows; costing updates
- Creating & configuring Questions & Templates for catalogue
- Custom configuration of Mail templates for Catalogue request items
- Access & Role Management
- Periodic review of Catalogue with End User Compute Team to identify latest product releases & Catalogue enablement; periodic review of Catalogue to identify EOL products & disablement as and when required
Technology Skills:
I should have hands-on experience in
- In-depth (L3) knowledge in all aspects of Flexera Tool and its Administration; implementing best practices.
- Advanced knowledge of Windows Operating systems; including both desktop and server
- Experience with WSUS; SCCM; or software deployment and management in enterprise environments
- Experience and comfortable with Linux and command line environments
- Working level Mac knowledge
- Working level programming and scripting knowledge including PowerShell and JS
- Working knowledge of SQL
- Knowledge of Network technologies and inter-Platform connectivity
- Experience using Jira Project & Change Management
- Good understanding of Cloud Computing and hosted solutions
- Any SAM related Certification
- Any Security related Certification would be an added advantage
- Exposure to Virtualization technologies (Xen; vmware etc)
- Proactive work and problem solving approach
Leadership & Potential:
- Collaborate across multifunctional departments to drive compliance and adoption; maintain the existing and new products in catalogue.
- Collaborate with a wider area or teams to drive overall enterprise tool roll-out.
- Collaborate with Engineering team with clear expectations and project deliveries.
- During volatile and uncertain situations able to anticipates and overcomes obstacles with a pragmatic approach to achieve goals and commitments. While exhibiting high responsiveness by reacting quickly and positively to significant and major events

Finance & Commercials:
- Have an understanding of how Infrastructure designs and implementations impact the budget.
- Ability to support business cases by evaluating suitable toolset for Flexera and commercial impact on Tesco and assist the Head of Systems Engineering in making the right decisions.
- Understand how the budgeting and procurement process works in Tesco and effectively apply the knowledge in planning and influencing product roadmaps.
- Understand maintenance contracts Tesco has in place and identify opportunities to reduce costs.
