Systems Administrator - Service Desk

We are currently seeking a Systems Administrator to maintain smooth operation of multi-user computer systems. Interacting daily with end users, both physically and virtually, your duties will include:

  • setting up administrator and service accounts and maintaining system documentation
  • tuning system performance
  • installing system wide software
  • allocate mass storage space
  • support and maintain an extensive server platform & related applications, 
  • utilise enterprise-wide monitoring platforms
  • identify problems in the infrastructure environment and action them accordingly 
  • work with the respective business technology groups to administer, support and manage existing infrastructure deployments and functions
  • participating in agile sprints, providing user representation during testing
  • support Change Management activities and the transition of solutions into production and operational use
  • develop plans, procedures, work instructions, manuals and other technical documentation for use by personnel
  • liaise with other teams through delivery and escalation processes of the team’s tasks
  • plan, monitor and report on progress of activities within your team’s assigned work packages

Please be aware that this role will require some on-call/weekend work on occasion with core hours (three rolling shifts) between 0600-1800hrs. 

Essential

  • Working experience in server, desktop and active directory administration and support in a medium-to-large scale environment.  Preferably in the public or defence sector.
  • A comparable amount of experience of administering a multi-domain/Active Directory user environment over a wide area TCP/IP network
  • Windows Active Directory and other related technologies such as DHCP, DNS, etc.
  • Networking, Storage and Backup experience

Desirable 

  • Solid understanding of modern server hardware concepts with knowledge of VCE vBlock, NetApp, EMC & Cisco hardware an advantage
  • Experience with SCCM, SCOM, SharePoint, EMC Networker
  • Experience with Citrix VDI deployments and the integration with McAfee products
  • ITIL Foundation v3 certified
  • Experience with  virtualization technologies including VMware management suite
  • SharePoint Power User experience

Please note the successful candidate will be an Australian Citizen with an NV2 or higher Security Clearance.
