As System Safety Engineer you will ensure that our flagship VoloCity aircraft, and future aircraft, are developed, designed, produced, and supported according to the state-of-art and applicable safety standards associated with airworthiness regulations. You maintain safety throughout the entire product development lifecycle.
With your aviation experience, you will contribute directly to the certification of this uniquely safe and simple flight experience. As an integral part of our development team, you ensure that the proper system development processes are followed by our engineering teams.
Your mission during this flight:
- You will work closely with your colleagues to:
i. define safety objectives for the functions and architecture of aircraft systems
ii. define FDAL and IDAL
iii. derive, validate and verify safety requirements
- Be a member of our Product Safety Team, responsible for Safety Analysis including PSSA and SSA
- Prepare and create system FHA, FTA, FMEA, FCA
- Be the responsible point-of-contact for the coordination and management of safety activities with external suppliers, including document review and acceptance
- Specify and support the validation and verification activities of system requirements, according to ARP-4754A
- Support system-level or component-level milestones, like design reviews e.g. PDR / CDR / TRR
- Highlight and examine safety concerns associated with proposed new design architectures
- Provide support for formal audits and exchanges with EASA, as needed
Check in your professional skills:
- Full working proficiency in English
- University degree in Engineering (Aeronautical Engineering preferred)
- Knowledge of ARP4761, ARP4754A, CS-XX.1309
- Detailed knowledge and at least 3 or more total years of experience with:
a. Aviation safety and reliability assessment, such as FHA, FTA (or Markov Analysis, Reliability Block Diagram), FMEA, CMA, Zonal Safety Analysis, Single Event Effect (SEE), Particular Risk Analysis (PRA)
b. Systems Engineering / V Model in Aviation or other complex product development industry processes
c. Requirement Management
- Experience in development and certification of either aircraft-systems, or engines, or complete aircraft
- Team player with good communication skills
Bonus skills:
- Knowledge and work experience in multicopter, tilt-rotor, helicopter aircraft platforms
- Knowledge of SC-VTOL
- Experience as a Compliance Verification Engineer (CVE)
- Compelling verbal or written negotiation skills, preferably demonstrable
- Basic knowledge of:
- Li-ion batteries
- Brushless DC motor control
- High Voltage DC Power Distribution Systems
- Digital Communication Buses
