System Engineer III

Auria islooking for a full-time System Engineer for a fully funded remote position supporting efforts in Aerospace launch and orbit dynamics to include developing front end scripts to meet customer requirements.

U.S. Citizenship is required - this position must be located in the United States. The qualified candidate will have experience with space mission design, spacecraft development, and integration.

Applicants must have experience in developing analytical approaches for spacecraft and launch vehicle integration studies, and a Secret clearance in order to be considered.

Salary Range: $150,000 - $175,000

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement new analytical approaches for spacecraft and launch vehicle integration studies
    • Provide expertise in modeling and simulation to support integration studies, including areas such as trajectory, Coupled Loads Analysis (CLA), integrated thermal analysis, vibration analysis (sine and random), acoustic analysis, shock analysis, and EMI/EMC analysis
    • Address integration challenges related to vibration, acoustic, and shock environments
  • Utilize expertise in system requirements modeling, verification, and validation in the context of integration
  • Contribute to the development of spacecraft and launch vehicle requirements models, potentially utilizing Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tool

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • Secret Security Clearance
  • 10+ years relevant experience
  • Experience in developing analytical approaches for spacecraft and launch vehicle integration studies
  • Experience with space mission design, spacecraft development, and integration.
  • Familiarity with the following tools/software:
    • CAD/CAE Software: SolidWorks, CATIA, or AutoCAD for system design.
    • Simulation Software: Proficiency in space-specific simulation tools (e.g., STK, GMAT, or Systems Tool Kit).
    • Project Management Tools: Competence with tools like MS Project, JIRA, or similar
    • Programming Languages: Python, MATLAB, or other scripting languages

Preferred Skills:

  • Systems Engineering Principles:
    • Requirements Engineering: Experience in defining, documenting, and managing system requirements
    • System Design & Integration
    • Modeling and Simulation: Proficiency in using tools like MATLAB, Simulink, or similar for modeling, simulating, and analyzing space systems.
    • Test & Validation: Ability to design and execute tests to validate system performance and meet requirements.
  • Space Systems knowledge to include - Spacecraft Engineering, Satellite Systems and Space Mission Design
  • Space System Engineering Disciplines to include: Electronics & Hardware, Mechanical and Communication Systems
  • Project Management and Leadership Skills
