System Engineer – Cybersecurity

The Cyber Security and Networking Integration Engineer will be responsible for quarterly security releases that may include Service Pack updates, Microsoft security updates, as well as address other potential product security vulnerabilities as needed.  This activity will require cross-functional System Development collaboration to assess the change impacts and risks, technical writing skills, and verification testing – all to be performed in compliance with company procedures. 
The Cyber Security and Networking Integration Engineer will be responsible for the post-market vulnerability monitoring of indicated products in compliance with company procedures including providing support to initiate security scanning as needed.
The Cyber Security and Networking Integration Engineer will assist with threat modeling and the assessment of security risk as needed.
The Cyber Security and Networking Integration Engineer will  also be accountable for ensuring that St. Louis R&D computers and instruments maintain compliance to corporate IS cyber security policies which will include maintaining a computer and instrument inventory. 
 

 MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES: 

  • Responsible for System Engineering deliverables in support of quarterly releases focused on ensuring the cybersecurity of bioMerieux products.
  • Responsible for continuous cyber security vulnerabilities monitoring of the VITEK and VIRTUO products including documenting the assessments and follow up on all required actions.
  • As a member of the Systems Engineering Cybersecurity team, be one of the key points-of-contact for the St. Louis System Development department for IS cyber security compliance,  This includes maintaining an inventory of all computers and instruments within System development and providing support as needed.
  • Provide recommendations for technical or process quality improvements related to cybersecurity of bioMerieux products. 
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
  • Experience with product risk management
  • Experience with technical writing
  • Knowledge of testing practices
  • Experience working in an ISO/FDA regulated environment
  • Ability to interface and coordinate across functions
  • Ability to communicate professionally on the topic of a given product to a regulating authority
  • Actively assist with product and process quality monitoring and improvements as needed
  
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED FOR THE POSITION:  
  • Education/Experience: MS in Biomedical Engineering or Systems Engineering or Computer Science + 3 years of relatable experience or BS in Biomedical Engineering or Systems Engineering or Computer Science + 5 years of relatable experience
  • bioMerieux product knowledge highly valued
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office productivity tools – primarily Excel, Word and Outlook, but also Visio, PowerPoint, and Project 
  • Strong professional writing skills 
  • Strong professional communication skills
