You will be joining the IT Architecture Design team, whose role is to architect, design and assist IT teams on running large-scale, distributed, fault-tolerant systems. The team drives IT to achieve stakeholder-appropriate reliability, security and long-term maintainability for internal and external infrastructure.
As a part of this team you will work directly with Systems Engineers, providing them with technical vision and direct assistance when necessary. You will develop a two way relationship, setting architectural objectives but also bringing staff proposals back to the Architecture team for discussion and analysis.
This role requires a deep understanding of IT frameworks, cloud technologies, security protocols and enterprise architecture. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, extensive experience in systems design and an ability to lead cross-functional teams in the execution of IT projects.
Responsibilities:
- Provide domain expertise and technical leadership around compute, storage and cloud technologies.
- Coordinate architecture across the entire IT department to achieve economies of scale and maximum efficiency.
- Build a relationship with IT teams and directly engage with Engineers.
- Promote automated processes and best practices.
- Make recommendations and accompany teams in implementation.
- Identify IT team priorities and technical objections, and design strategies to deliver value and resolve their blockers.
Minimum:
- BS/MS in Computer Science or a related technical field involving programming (e.g., physics, mathematics), or equivalent experience.
- Over 5 years of experience in Systems, Network, Security, Software, or Operations.
- Proficiency in one or more of the following programming languages: Java, Python, Rust, .Net, C, C++, Perl, Ruby, or Go.
- A systematic approach to problem-solving, strong communication skills, and a sense of ownership and drive.
Ideally:
- Experience with structured enterprise architecture practices, hybrid cloud deployments, and on-premise-to-cloud migration deployments/roadmaps.
- Experience in building, architecting, designing, and implementing distributed systems, network infrastructure, security, and application development.
- Experience in enterprise technology buying and evaluation processes.
- Understanding of large-scale computing solutions.
- Ability to deliver results, work cross-functionally, engage/influence audiences, and identify expansion engagements.
- Ability to learn, understand, and work quickly with new emerging technologies, methodologies, and solutions in the IT technology space.
