JOB SUMMARY:
The Swine Farm Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the swine farm section, ensuring that animal care, production processes and farming activities are conducted efficiently and effectively. This role involves managing farm staff, ensuring the health and welfare of the swine herd and maintaining high standards of productivity and biosecurity.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the daily care, feeding, breeding/rearing and health management of the swine herd including the biosecurity of the farm.
Direct and supervise farm workers, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations.
Monitor the health and welfare of the swine herd, including regular health checks, treatments and vaccinations.
Implement and manage the section's SOPs, work instructions and programs to ensure high productivity.
Maintain accurate records of herd performance, health treatments, and production data.
Implement and enforce biosecurity measures to prevent introduction and the spread of diseases.
Ensure all farming equipment and facilities are properly maintained.
Coordinate with different departments to ensure adequate supplies of feed, medications, and other necessities.
Assist in ensuring that all farm operations comply with local and government regulations.
Prepares budget and ensures unit costs are within budget limit
Coordinates with swine CSR for the hog declaration and volume available for sale.
Assists the Farm Manager in relieving other farm supervisors in monitoring and implementation of procedures and programs of the section.
Monitors and evaluates the services of third party manpower service providers.
People Development:
Supervises, monitors and evaluates the performance of direct subordinates.
Builds IDP and provides intervention for the development and growth of direct subordinates.
Monitors the services of third party manpower service provider in the Breeding and Gestation section.
Other Tasks:
Appointed membership to committees whenever necessary. Actively participate in all company programs and activities under quality improvement, safety & security, sustainability, corporate social responsibility, risk management etc.
Participates in the expansion projects and/or projects improvements of the swine division as may be assigned.
Performs other tasks related to the job as may be assigned by the immediate superior.
Food Safety:
Ensures execution of quality and food safety policy, standards and regulations within the team.
Responsible for reporting problems related to Halal, food safety & quality management system to identified authorities.
Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:
Must have a degree in Animal Science, Animal Husbandry or Veterinary Medicine
Preferably 3 years work experience in a 500-sow level swine operation preferably as a supervisor.

Working knowledge in swine breeding, heat detection, artificial insemination, boar semen evaluation and processing and gestation procedures.
