As a Software engineer candidate are expected to perform below key tasks:
As a Software Engineer, you will be involved in the full software development lifecycle, including creating, implementing, and reusing code for products or components while applying coding best practices and ensuring security compliance.
Understand the requirement, come up with the best user-friendly interface, which is simple, elegant, easy to use and follows Visa principles.
Develop the backend microservices, REST Apis
Collaborates with stakeholders like project managers, technical leads, and product owners to interpret requirements for a project component for an external product
Asks questions to verify assumptions about requirements at the component level and escalates potential design issues to appropriate stakeholders.
Learns to create and implement code for a product, service, or component, with an emphasis on code reusability across assigned components.
Gains knowledge about and applies coding patterns, guidelines, styles, and best practices to write code.
Interprets and understands non-functional requirements (NFRs) using the design provided.
Contributes to the design documentation with engineering team members and works with team leads to validate design aligned with requirements across one product component.
This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelors degree, OR 3+ years of relevant work experience
Preferred Qualifications
- 2 or more years of work experience
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills
- Driven and self-motivated, work creatively to solve challenging problems.
- Working knowledge in at least one of the object-oriented languages (Java, C#, Python, Ruby, C++, etc.)
- Experience of building REST based web services & web applications using Java.
- Good understanding of Object-Oriented Concepts, Service Oriented Architectures, Distributed Systems Design Concepts and Computer Science fundamentals
- Knowledge of data structures.
- Willingness to work with different technologies.
- Knowledge of Infrastructure (Linux/windows), Networking
- Familiarity with Github or any other repository management tools.
- Good understanding of SSDLC, Agile methodologies. Agile development experience in a SCRUM environment is a plus.
- Knowledge of GenAI is a strong plus
