We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our talented global Data Sciences team as Survey Programmer/Data Specialist based in Shanghai.

The MMR Data Science team is successful and fast-growing. It comprises of statisticians, data analysts, developers and programmers. We are now looking to expand our Online Survey Programming & Data Specialist capabilities in Shanghai. You will get the opportunity to work on a variety of interesting new projects whilst being well supported by a large and multi-disciplinary Data Sciences team with global reach. We are looking for candidates who is highly numerate and ideally with some programming experience and an interest in data science / digital technology.

The role:

  • The primary responsibility is creating online surveys using specialist market research survey programming software (our main platform is ‘Confirmit’ so experience in using this would be a definite advantage, although not essential)
  • Project Management is an essential part of the role and our internal stakeholders are the global research teams. The role will include liaising with our own team, researcher teams and suppliers in order to meet exact project requirements and timings.
  • In addition to survey programming you will assist our data specialists who are responsible for formatting the extensive data sets our global research teams and automated research platforms rely on. An integral part of this will be applying specialist software and analytics to deliver rigorous data quality standards
  • Strong attention to detail and a high level of numeracy is required

Requirements

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Be highly data literate and have a good working knowledge of Excel
  • Be a fast and accurate typist, comfortable using a keyboard
  • Have great attention to detail – checking data, tests and validating databases is part of the role
  • Possess strong self-management and organizational skills
  • Possess good problem solving and logical thinking skills
  • Have excellent communications skills – including fluent spoken and written English
  • Be good at working with others – maintaining open and honest relationships with your colleagues and clients
  • Have a desire to continuously learn and improve, taking up opportunities for new experiences
  • Whilst training will be provided you will have the aptitude and ability to learn to use the specialist survey programming & data analytics software independently as you develop your skills.
