The Surgical Internship is not only the opportunity to gain valuable insight, experience, knowledge and skills as a clinician, but it can also be an essential step on a journey to specialisation.
The Role
This specialised 12-month Surgical Internship is designed for veterinary professionals eager to advance their surgical expertise within a state-of-the-art facility. As a Southpaws surgical intern, you will be required to assist in complex orthopaedic, soft tissue and neurologic surgeries; performing and reviewing diagnostic imaging; seeing primary cases; including re-examination; assisting with the patient care whilst hospitalised; experience with client communication; and being an integral part of the Southpaws surgical team
Throughout the program, you’ll also have the opportunity to mentor rotating interns, enhancing your teaching skills, and engage in resident teaching and training, further contributing to your professional development. This internship not only enhances your surgical capabilities but also broadens your exposure to a wide range of cases and responsibilities. What We’re Looking For
- A Veterinary degree registerable in Victoria
- If wishing to pursue residency a completed rotating internship prior is ideal
