We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead and inspire our engineering teams in developing cutting-edge B2B2C products. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in both backend and frontend technologies, with experience in microservices architecture and modern web development frameworks. This role is critical in driving our product development efforts, ensuring high-quality deliverables through robust quality automation testing strategies, and fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
On a daily basis you will:
- Lead and mentor engineering teams in the development of complex B2B2C products, overseeing both backend and frontend testing initiatives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (product, design, sales, support) to shape product vision and strategy as it relates to Supportability.
- Drive the adoption and implementation of automation test architecture to enhance scalability and maintainability of our systems.
- Manage the full software development lifecycle for automation testing, from planning and prioritization to deployment and maintenance.
- Foster a culture of code quality, best practices, and continuous improvement within the engineering team.
- Participate in architectural decisions and guide technical discussions to solve complex challenges.
- Implement and optimize agile development processes, ensuring efficient delivery of product features.
- Recruit, develop, and retain top-quality engineering talent to build high-performing teams.
- Evangelize the implementation of integration testing efforts of frontend and backend systems to create seamless user experiences.
- Drive data-driven decision-making by leveraging metrics and analytics throughout the development process.
- Create and enable end-to-end test automation using Gherkin to ensure product quality and reliability.
- Mentor and guide the team in writing clear, concise, and maintainable Gherkin scenarios.
- Collaborate with QA engineers to integrate Gherkin-based tests into the CI/CD pipeline.
- Promote a culture of test automation and advocate for best practices in test design and execution.
What skill are we searching for?
- 7+ years of hands-on software development experience.
- 4+ years of Gherkin experience.
- 4+ years of experience managing software engineering teams.
- 2+ years of experience working on B2B2C products.
- Demonstrated experience in testing microservices architecture and API design.
- Track record of successfully delivering complex software projects.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
- Master's degree in a relevant field is a plus.
- Extensive experience with backend technologies and microservices architecture.
- Proficiency with Python and TypeScript or JavaScript.
- Strong knowledge of frontend technologies including JavaScript, TypeScript, and HTML.
- Experience with B2B2C products and understanding of the unique challenges in this space.
- Proven track record of leading and managing software engineering teams.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across departments.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make data-driven decisions.
- Familiarity with AWS.
- Knowledge of agile methodologies and experience implementing CI/CD practices.
