Buyer/Planner Supervisor

Wilsonart, Temple, has an immediate opening for a Supervisor, Buyer/Planner.    This individual will analyze and manage direct material replenishment. Performs planning and other tasks as required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead team of Buyers ordering multiple raw material categories from multiple suppliers.
  • Provide coaching, mentoring, and succession planning.
  • Optimize service level vs working capital trade-off with guidance from leadership.
  • Lead continuous improvement for your team.
  • Analyze demand and summary statistics to determine replenishment volume vs stock level desired.
  • Work within established EOQ standards and pricing targets for each supplier.
  • Maintain high material availability; >98% on Deco and 100% on chemicals/Kraft.
  • Elevate constraints to the supply chain team.
  • Manage slow-moving and obsolescence.
  • Manage on-sight and off-sight inventories.
  • Manage logistics for related direct material replenishment where necessary

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Proven negotiation skills.
  • Knowledge and proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office software.
  • Ability to analyze supply chain data and aid in improvements as needed.
  • Ability to communicate well in oral and written forms.
  • Ability to gather and evaluate information for material forecast.
  • Ability to analyze cost comparisons.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

 

EDUCATION: Concentration in Business related field

Bachelor Degree Required

 

EXPERIENCE: 1+ years

One additional year of experience may substitute for one year of required education with a maximum substitute of

four years.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Sitting in a comfortable position with frequent opportunity to move about. Examples: executive, management and secretarial position Light work - Tasks involve pushing/pulling, lifting and standing or using force equal to handling materials up to 20pounds.

ENVIRONMENT: Located in a comfortable indoor area. Examples: executive, management and support positions
