The purpose of this position is to lead WVPA’s transmission line and substation asset management and inventory management group.
Some of the duties and responsibilities for this role will be:
- Leads an asset management group that includes inventory and procurement personnel.
- Works directly with WVPA and Member maintenance crews to ensure adequate transmission line and substation equipment condition and performance.
- Recommends and leads new WVPA asset replacement programs to ensure reliability across the WVPA system.
- Ensures adequate equipment inventory is maintained.
- Maintains an up to date WVPA asset management and inventory management database.
- Implements performance management policies and best practices to improve employee performance, engagement, and
- contributions to support the needs of WVPA and its Members.
- Identifies and implements continual improvement initiatives to achieve Company and Department objectives.
- Fulfills supervisory responsibilities including but not limited to budgeting, planning, scheduling, delegating, appraising, coaching, counseling, and teaching.
- Directly supervises employees performing miscellaneous activities in support of the engineering group including procurement and inventory management services.
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or equivalent experience.
- Prior electric utility experience required.
- Substation or transmission line engineering, maintenance, or asset management experience preferred.
- Some prior experience in a supervisory role preferred.
