Summer Program Safety and Support

We are seeking a Safety and Support Leader with multiple skills who is youth friendly, energetic, patient, and professional as well as capable and confident to support students in creating a positive and safe environment for them to succeed. Safety and Support is committed to the physical safety and emotional wellbeing of all program participants. Under the direction of the Site Coordinator, the Safety and Support Leader will secure the premises, ensure the safety of all participants as well as act as an advocate for all program participants. They will work as a team member to implement a fun, safe, and productive space for all youth after school. 

Benefits:  

  • Pay rate: $24-$26 (based on experience and location) 
  • 40 hours per week from June 5 - July 24
  • Monday - Friday 8:30-5:00 pm; Off holidays, and weekends 

Requirements:

  • Available Monday through Friday 40 hours per week
  • Must be able to work every day during our summer program hours and commit to a full 6 week summer program required for the position 
  • Ability to reliably commute to Portola, SF.
  • Passionate about learning and youth development: K-12 
  • Ability to work in a collaborative team environment 
  • Must be able to communicate openly in a professional manner with students, parents, community  partners, and after-school and school day-staff 
  • Must have experience working with elementary youth  
  • Must possess strong classroom and behavioral management skills 
  • Support program coordinator in supervision and safety of the program 

Preferred:

  • Bilingual: Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities: 

  • Support and maintain a safe and emotionally supportive environment 
  • Collaborate with youth to support their learning and development. 
  • Model BACR Best Practices  
  • Support the culture and climate of the program 
  • Maintain a safe and supportive environment.  
  • De-escalate difficult situations amongst youth, staff, and/or families.

Above is the pay range for this position that we reasonably expect to pay. Individual compensation is based on various factors including experience/education, skillset, and geographic location.
