Internship Overview: As an FHU intern, you will have the opportunity to gain practical experience in one of the following areas:

  • Civil Engineering Design
  • Construction Engineering
  • Environmental Engineering
  • Environmental Sciences
  • Environmental Planning
  • GIS (Geographic Information Systems)
  • Structural Engineering
  • Traffic Engineering
  • Transportation Planning
  • Water Resource Engineering

You will contribute to real projects, developing your technical skills and gaining insights into the industry. This internship offers a supportive environment where you can explore your career interests and grow both personally and professionally.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the design, analysis, and planning of engineering projects.
  • Participate in fieldwork, data collection, and analysis.
  • Collaborate with team members to develop innovative solutions.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and other documentation.
  • Utilize software and tools relevant to your field of study.

Internship Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate (Junior or higher status) or Graduate student in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in relevant software.
  • Excellent mathematics, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Availability for a 3-month internship. (Approximately June - August)

Preferred Skills:

  • Previous coursework in transportation, environmental studies, or a related field.
  • Fieldwork experience is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of and interest in transportation operations and planning.

Benefits

Starting salary is $23.00 hour.
