Subway Sandwich Artist - 13 hours per week - Chanterlands

Subway Sandwich Artists prepare a range of hot and cold sandwiches, salads and sides for customers. They will work alongside retail sales assistants in the Subway stores based within our petrol station and convenience stores in Hull, East Yorkshire.

Sewell Subway Sandwich Artists look after our customers hunger needs on a day to day basis. Responsible for making subway sandwiches to order for customers, preparing and refreshing fresh meat and salad foods as and when required to keep our stocks ready for our customers. You will work well as part of a team, making sandwiches to customer requirements. You will be responsible for serving customers, following health and safety procedures and continuously maintaining the cleanliness of the store.


Hours of work: Monday 4:30pm - 8:30pm, Thursday 4:30pm - 8:30pm, Sunday 3:30pm - 8:30pm = 13 hours per week

Contract: Permanent

Site Location: 247a Chanterlands Avenue, Hull, East Yorkshire, HU5 4DH

Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

  • Greeting customers when first entering the store and providing world-class customer service, supporting customers with their orders whilst in store and building relationships to creating repeat business
  • Serving customers and preparing food in line with Subway training and guidance on a daily basis, including providing general advice and guidance to customers on products
  • Cleaning and housekeeping both front and back of house, to maintain our high standards
  • Assisting stock control and management within the store, including; accepting and checking new deliveries, rotating stock, date checking, ensuring the store is stocked to its full sales potential at all times
  • Be aware of security within the store; being on the look-out for shoplifters, scams, and the use of fraudulent money and bank cards etc

Requirements

Suitable candidates for Sewell and Subway will have the following:

  • Previous working experience within a retail, customer service or food handling environment
  • A passion for delivering a world-class service
  • A flexible attitude and approach to covering shifts for the wider team (holidays/sickness)
  • A ‘hands on’ approach to working and be able to use own initiative
  • A positive, approachable and professional attitude and demeanour
  • A friendly and engaging personality
  • The ability to work both as a team member, and alone in a busy working environment
  • Possess a positive approach to learning, development and progression
