About Our Future Health

We have an exciting opportunity for a Study Support Centre Advisor who will be the main point of contact for study volunteers with Our Future Health. This is an important role as you will be the voice of our organisation guiding our volunteers through their journey with our programme. This will involve working with volunteers, members of internal staff and external partners such as; Researchers, Nurses and GP’s in order to provide accurate information and advice. Within this role you will also have a fantastic opportunity to learn about our organisation and progress into other opportunities as we grow.

Our plan is to bring together 5 million volunteers from right across the UK who will be asked to contribute information to help build one of the most detailed pictures we have ever had of people’s health. Researchers will be able to use this information to make new discoveries about human health and diseases. So future generations can live in good health for longer.

Requirements

You are someone that always strives to give excellent service and a positive experience. Your studies and career to date will have enabled you to build excellent rapport building skills with the ability to understand and discuss complex and at times sensitive issues. You’ll be naturally empathetic and able to inspire trust in others by communicating openly and clearly.

We’re looking for people that are not afraid to speak up in a constructive way and work with similarly passionate individuals that want to make a difference.

To succeed in this role, you will need to be able to demonstrate some of the following in either voluntary or paid experience:

  • The ability to communicate accurately and effectively with members of the public and colleagues, both verbally and in writing.
  • Demonstrable experience of dealing with members of the public in a polite and sensitive manner with an understanding of confidentiality.
  • A desire to provide high quality service at all times.
  • The ability to understand complex scientific concepts and explain them in simple terms.
  • Competency with software programmes including Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • The ability to perform basic database interrogation as requested and collate simple datasets which are presented in a logical format.
  • Fluency in English. If you have skills in any other languages then this would be very useful.
  • A science based degree or experience in supporting a similar research programme.
  • Knowledge of support software such as Zendesk / Freshdesk or similar experience of working with electronic health systems.
  • Must be flexible to work 35 hours per week over 7 days with shifts between the hours of 8:00am and 8:00pm
