We are searching for a Stringed Instrument Support Technician based in Scottsdale, Arizona. This person provides Stringed Instrument product technical support to FMIC Authorized Distributors, Dealers, Authorized Service Centers and global internal FMIC Departments via e-mail, and direct telephone conversation.
This is a hybrid role based out of our Scottsdale, AZ office.
Essential Functions:
- Respond to all requests for Stringed Instrument product support which are received through e-mail, phone calls and internal Chat resources.
- Answer general and technical questions for Distributors, Dealers, Business Development Managers, Service Centers, Consumers and global internal employees regarding all FMIC brands of stringed instruments.
- Coordinate service returns to FMIC in-house repair facilities from Distributors, Dealers, Service Centers, and global partners.
- Responsible for validation and entry of all warranty-related neck, body, and warranty only designated parts orders.
- Make determinations for out-of-warranty, accommodation body and neck sales to Consumers.
- Issue Return Authorizations for defective stringed instruments, as well as related accessories and parts.
- Input defective replacement orders.
- Review, input and approve stringed instrument warranty repair claims.
- Review, approve and process product logo decal and Certificate of Authenticity requests received from Authorized Distributors, Dealers, Service Centers and Consumers.
- Inform Team Supervisor of pertinent trends regarding failures in the field with respect to stringed instrument products and accessories.
- Manage administrative aspects of FMIC Custom Shop service returns, including but not limited to Distributor/Dealer/Service partner communications, FMIC Custom Shop Repair team direction and Consumer messaging control.
- Special projects for Product Team, Marketing and R&D as needed.
- Additional duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Guitar repair/building training from a Luthiery school or college/technical school required.
- Repair service experience on FMIC fretted instruments preferred.
- Familiarity with electronic schematics and wiring diagrams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Conflict resolution skills
