The Role

The Strategic Sourcing Manager is a critical member of the Global Supply Chain Team responsible for developing the network of Suppliers for 8 Rivers and leading commercial negotiations across the diverse portfolio of technologies. Location:  Houston, TX or Durham, NC

Responsibilities:

  • Identifies potential suppliers, manages NDA’s, and initial supplier outreach.
  • Leads supplier due diligence & supplier qualification efforts. Ensures that suppliers can meet requirements and support future innovation.
  • Prepares and issues Requests for Information (RFI), Requests for Proposals (RFP) and Requests for Quotation (RFQ) to suppliers.
  • Leads commercial & contract negotiations with suppliers to ensure favorable terms and alignment with organizational strategies.
  • Works with Supply Chain, Engineering, Project Management and Operations to proactively investigate, notify, and assist in resolving problems from changes in delivery schedules and developing risk mitigation plans.
  • Manage contracts to verify compliance with contractual requirements.  
  • Manage long-term relationships and agreements with suppliers.
  • Resolve quality problems with suppliers including defective or unacceptable goods/services with Suppliers.
  • Monitor procurement milestones, lead bid evaluation and selection process, award, through delivery. Facilitate the definition of the program objectives, success criteria, scope, governance, and budget for projects with multi-year delivery schedules.
  • Provide support to Supply Chain Management team to meet corporate goals, objectives, projects, and KPI’s.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Procurement Management, Supply Chain, or other contract management experience.
  • Demonstrated track record of leadership, team building, execution excellence, and delivering results in different business environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to build collaborative relationships within a vast network of colleagues.
  • Experience with supporting product development and bringing new technologies to market.
  • Strong analytical skills focused on deal economics and contract analysis.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage competing priorities while optimizing the deployment of resources to meet tight project schedules.
  • Strong commercial negotiation skills and experience negotiating procurement contracts for multi-million dollar pieces of capital equipment
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence all levels of an organization.
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to travel up to 30%.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • 10 years of experience with sourcing in an energy, gas, chemical processing, or related CO2 technology.
  • 5+ years of experience of capital equipment procurement.
  • Strong attention to detail and experience
  • Working experience with Coupa or other contract management platform.
  • Experience working with engineering, procurement and construction companies to execute projects.
