Store Manager - SPAR Allaway Avenue
We have an exciting opportunity for a Store Manager who is motivated, friendly, hands-on and
passionate about people and their local community.
Appleby Westward is a fast growing and secure business, continuing to invest in retail outlets with
over 300 independent and company-owned stores under the SPAR brand.
Every one of our SPAR convenience stores are more than just a local shop, and we are proud to be at
the heart of the communities we serve across the Southwest. As a Store Manager you will be a
positive role model, leading and developing your team to always ensure excellent customer service
and store standards. You’ll also be responsible for maximising sales and maintaining control of costs
within your store.
The successful candidate will have:
• Store management experience within the retail industry and/or Petrol Filling Station;
• Excellent proven and demonstrated people management skills;
• Experience of leading a team to achieve results;
• Commercial awareness, and experience of working in a fast-paced customer focused
environment;
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to build trusted relationships;
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise effectively;
• Personal Licence Holder (or able to obtain and hold a licence within 6 weeks of
appointment).
• DSEAR & Safety on the Forecourt Knowledge (Desirable, but training can be provided)
Stores which include Post Office services will require successful completion of Post Office security
checks as part of the joining process.
