DOF Canada is currently seeking an individual for the position of Steward for our LIV (Light Intervention Vessel) committed to a long-term contract off the East Coast of Canada. Offshore work schedule will be based on a 28-day rotation. We are looking for a motivated and hardworking seafarer who has the passion for a career at sea. Key Responsibilities
• Assist Chief Cook/Night Cook in the preparation of meals while on galley duties
• Cleaning all accommodation spaces as directed by the Chief Steward/Cook while on accommodation duties
• Assist chief Cook in the maintenance of stock levels for all catering and cleaning materials including stock rotation
• Washing and drying of ship linen, towels & personal clothing while on laundry duties
• Assisting with the loading of provisions and stores. Ensure the galley, fridges, freezers, storerooms and mess rooms are maintained in a clean & hygienic condition
Requirements
Key Qualifications:
Education & Certificates:
• STCW MED BS
• Ship Personnel with Designated Security Duties Certificate
• Marine Basic First Aid and CPR
• Passenger Safety Management Training
• A Ship’s Cook Certificate would be an asset
• Valid Canadian Passport
• Valid Seafarers Medical
Experience / Knowledge:
• Relevant offshore experience within the marine sector
• Possess a high commitment to safe working practices and working as a team
• Ability to read, write, understand and speak English
• Self-starter, analytical and problem-solving capabilities
