SME Statutory Accounting at NIQ will join our Record to Report (R2R) team within Global Finance Operations organization. You will oversee the statutory accounting processes for our organization's operations in a specific region. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure full compliance with local statutory requirements of all the countries within the region, and to maintain accurate and timely financial reporting. This position is crucial in safeguarding the organization's adherence to regional financial regulations and standards.
Key Responsibilities

Statutory Compliance: Ensure all accounting practices and records comply with local statutory requirements. Stay updated with changes in local statutory requirements and accounting standards, ensuring compliance and driving process improvements.

Financial Reporting: Prepare and submit accurate statutory financial statements and reports in accordance with local accounting standards.

Audit Coordination: Liaise with internal and external auditors to facilitate audits of statutory financial statements, ensuring all financial records are maintained correctly for audit purposes. Ensure all raised or identified points during the audit or included in the management letter are resolved before the next audit commences. Conduct periodic reviews and audits of statutory financial statements to identify and resolve any discrepancies or issues.

Corporate Law Compliances: Filing of information with local company houses in accordance with applicable corporate law

Policy and Procedure Management: Implement accounting policies and procedures that comply with statutory regulations.

Stakeholder Communication: Maintain effective communication with local Controllers on local regulatory bodies and financial institutions to ensure compliance with all financial and legal requirements. Collaborate with cross-functional teams and local finance teams to gather and validate financial data for statutory reporting.

Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy in statutory reporting.

Technical Advisory: This is an individual contributor role with expertise on subject matters to help & train other junior resources.
Qualifications and Skills

Qualification: A Chartered Accountancy or CPA with preferably Company Secretary qualification

Professional Experience: Minimum 7 years of extensive experience in statutory accounting, preferably within APAC region with expertise on regional compliances. Familiarity with the local business environment and financial regulations is essential.

Technical Proficiency: Strong command of ERP systems and accounting software that are prevalent in the region, as well as Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.

Analytical Skills: Exceptional ability to analyze financial data and ensure it meets statutory requirements.

Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in preparing financial documents and reports.

Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of dealing with complex regulatory issues and explaining them to non-specialists.

Organizational Skills: Effective organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and tasks simultaneously.
