State Operations Manager

The Democratic National Committee is seeking a State Operations Manager  to support our ongoing mission of empowering Democrats up and down the ballot. The State Operations Manager will coordinate across multiple departments, including Operations, Political, Organizing and Accounting to maintain and support operational processes and ensure that the DNC is an essential contributor to state infrastructure. Critical for success is an interest in the mission of the DNC, strong sense of personal initiative, respect for the sensitivity and confidentiality of information, and the ability to balance multiple tasks.

Responsibilities/Duties:

  • Collaborate with Technology, HR, Legal, Accounting and DEI to assist and ensure the timely execution of operations processes
  • Assist with the recruiting, hiring and onboarding systems for program staff
  • Assist with the procurement of services and materials necessary for program operations
  • Assist in the process of management of field offices
  • Assist with the creation, promotion and management of DNC operations-related campaign systems, resources and training
  • Other duties as assigned to support the department and the DNC’s mission

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with employees at all levels.
  • Operates as a team player with the mindset that it is important to offer help to team members on pressing priority projects.
  • Flexibility and recognition that winning campaigns often means working outside of traditional office hours.
  • Works well under pressure 

Qualifications:

  • You have a Bachelor’s degree or 4 years of work experience
  • You have strong organizational skills, communication skills, attention to detail, responsiveness, and passion for the work. 
  • Comfortable working across multiple software platforms
  • Based in or willing to move to Washington, DC

The State Operations Manager position will require travel, which could be up to 10% of the time.

The starting salary for the State Operations Manager  position is $65,000 on an annualized basis, commensurate with experience and qualifications. This is a full-time, exempt position, that may require work on weekends, and has an end date of November 15, 2024.  This position is in the bargaining unit represented by SEIU Local-500.
