Staff Writer - How to Watch (Sports & TV)

If you love sport, TV shows and creating high-traffic, big revenue online articles, then this is the job opportunity you’ve been looking for. ‘How to Watch’ is an editorial team within the Ecommerce department at Future Publishing.

We create articles, across almost all Future’s brands (Tom’s Guide, TechRadar, What Hi-Fi, Cinema Blend, What to Watch and more) that tell our readers how, where and when to watch just about anything that’s on TV. You’ll talk streaming services, VPNs, and covering everything on-screen from NASCAR to Naked Dating UK.

What you'll be doing...

Reporting to The Editor, this role would suit an online journalist looking to get more involved in traffic analysis, revenue data, on-page user journey and working with freelancers. The bulk of this role is sub-editing freelance contributions, updating live articles and assisting the How to Watch Deputy Editor.. There will also be plenty of opportunities to write, design new page templates and use social media, emails and newsletters to publicise our work.

Experience that will put you ahead of the curve...

  • A journalism background – studied or workplace
  • Comfort with CMS use and, trends and traffic platform
  • Experience in a content role on an editorial website
  • Some on-page SEO know-how
  • A passion for page views and revenue wins

The expected range for this role is £25,000 - £28,000

This is a Hybrid role from our Bath Office, working three days from the office, two from home
