Job Summary:
Are you an expert in managing large, complex software development projects? Do you have experience in portfolio management within an R&D product development environment?
This role reports directly to the Engineering Chief of Staff Program and is part of the R&D Program and Operations team. You’ll oversee the portfolio management processes of our R&D product development organization. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure our projects are prioritized, funded, and aligned with our strategic goals. Your work will enable us to deliver innovative solutions that meet the needs of our customers and stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
• Strategic Support: Provide strategic support in the execution of projects and initiatives that align with the company's technological and business objectives, including R&D portfolio management.
• Portfolio Management: Lead the end-to-end management of the R&D product development portfolio, ensuring projects are prioritized, funded, and aligned with organizational goals.
• Process Optimization: Implement and refine portfolio management processes to enhance efficiency, transparency, and accountability across the organization.
• Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for stakeholders, providing regular updates on project statuses, risks, and opportunities.
• Resource Allocation: Coordinate with department leads to allocate resources effectively, ensuring optimal utilization and minimizing bottlenecks.
• Risk Management: Identify potential risks within the portfolio and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project success.
• Performance Monitoring: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to monitor project progress, quality, and impact.
• Continuous Improvement: Promote a culture of continuous improvement, leveraging feedback and data to refine processes and enhance overall performance.
Requirements and Preferred Experience:
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
• Minimum of 8+ years of progressive experience in technical program management, portfolio management, or a related role, preferably within an R&D environment.
• Proven track record of managing large, complex software development projects from inception to completion. Willingness to take on cross functional projects as the program owner, from time to time.
• Strong understanding of portfolio management principles and best practices.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• 8+ Experience with project management tools and methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum, Kanban).
