The Simulation group delivers products that accelerate our autonomous vehicle development, testing, and deployment through specialized frameworks and tools. As a Senior Systems Engineer on this team, you will define system requirements through detailed data analysis and close collaboration with our customers and partners. You will partner with organization leads to advise priorities and drive resolution multi-functionally.
What you’ll be doing:
- Define solutions to sophisticated, novel problems which accelerate AV deployment.
- Derive requirements and perform system verification/validation for simulation frameworks and tools.
- Drive planning and execution by decomposing system needs into projects, tools, and/or features that deliver incremental value to teams and customers.
- Define metrics and tools which measure and continuously monitor simulation validity in alignment with company objectives.
- Lead engineering analyses and communicate results driving continuous improvement to the tools and frameworks.
- Collaborate with Engineering Managers to ensure design, implementation, and programs are on track, and regularly drive consensus among diverse partners on technical projects.
- Prepare clear proposals and design documents for large-scope or multi-functional projects.
What you must have:
- Experience in systems engineering, requirements authoring, system analysis, and validation/testing
- Professional software development experience with Python/C++, SQL, Git
- 8+ years experience in decomposing and analyzing large, complex systems
- Experience in Embedded Systems, Hardware, or Automotive Sensors (Lidar, Radar, Camera)
- Shown success in highly detailed systems-level design and execution
- Clear track record of effective collaboration with driving and continuous delivery of quality results to your internal business partner teams
- Comfortable collaborating with data scientists, machine learning engineers, and platform teams
- Ability to adapt and operate under ambiguity
- Strong communication skills and experience addressing diverse audiences
- BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, or equivalent experience

- Experience in computer simulation, including video games and vehicle simulation software
- Experience with fast-growth companies and recruiting/retaining the best talent
- Experience in Carla or IPG CarMaker
The salary range for this position is $170,000 - 250,000. Compensation will vary depending on location, job-related knowledge, skills and experience. You may also be offered a bonus, restricted stock units, and benefits. These ranges are subject to change.
