Staff SW Engineer

Visa Technology & Operations LLC, a Visa Inc. company, needs a Staff SW Engineer (multiple openings) in Austin, TX to:

• Architect, design, build, develop, test, and/or implement software systems and/or applications.
• Conduct business and technical analysis, code reviews and user testing, and implement and produce technical documentation of solutions for new development, systems enhancements, and production support.
• Design, develop, and implement modifications and corrections to existing software, including the development of debugging routines.
• Design, develop, and implement of new data driven business software solutions.
• Deliver high quality software solutions that conform requirements, and the architectural vision, and comply with all applicable standards.
• Design and build new risk and fraud prevention software applications and functionality.
• Create design documentation.
• Participate in software design reviews to provide input on functional requirements, product designs, schedules, or potential problems.
• Participate in code reviews with team members. Review and assess impact of proposed scope changes on assigned deliverables.
• Design and develop a common approach to continuous software integration that includes build automation, test automation, and software deployment automation.
• Position reports to the employer’s Austin, TX office and may allow for partial telecommuting.

Basic Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or closely related field.
• Full-stack Web Application Development using the Java technology stack – Java, Spring framework, React, JavaScript, Tomcat, RDBMs.
• Machine Learning and Algorithms.
• CICD (Jenkins Pipeline, Git, JIRA).
• RESTful API design and development.
• Database design and development.
• Security – Authentication and Authorization.
• Requirements gathering and refinement.
• Software design, development and systems integration.
• Design documentation.

Experience in the skills can be gained through academic coursework and/or work experience.

Worksite: Austin, TX

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Travel Requirements: This position does not require travel.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is $119,100.00 USD to $190,400.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
