About the job

This position is needed to create high-quality, modern solutions to complex engineering problems and help define the future of Core Foundations and Governance Platform for next generation CDP. Our mission is to help businesses unlock customer insights and make better decisions faster and cheaper by creating a suite of industry-leading storage, data processing, and other mission-critical services.

In this role, you will be responsible for building a suite of products and platform capabilities which shall form the building blocks of Core Foundation and Governance Platform capable of processing billions of events. 

Responsibilities

In this role, you’ll:

  1. Design, develop and build the next generation platform and product capabilities (Foundations, Governance etc), process billions of events, handling massive event volumes, and driving diverse functionalities and power various use cases across Twilio Data and Applications
  2. Build high-performance data pipelines using Go, Scala/Spark, and Kafka
  3. Build highly scalable and robust APIs to ingest and access data for internal teams , customers and external use cases. 
  4. Build and optimize globally available and highly scalable distributed systems
  5. Collaborate with teams across the engineering organization to ensure services are multi-region capable and meet regulatory requirements
  6. Mentor other engineers on the team on technical architecture and design
  7. Participate in an on-call rotation to support our business-critical Tire 0 services

Required:

  1. 8+ years of experience writing production-grade code in Golang, Java, or Scala.
  2. Strong hands-on experience in designing and implementing highly available, fault-tolerant, and performant distributed systems.
  3. Experience operating large-scale distributed systems on top of cloud infrastructure.
  4. Proficiency in programming with one or more of the following: Go, Java, Scala, or similar languages.
  5. Hands-on experience with container orchestration frameworks (e.g., Kubernetes, EKS, ECS).
  6. Experience working with data platforms or data pipelines.
  7. Deep understanding of architectural patterns for high-scale web applications (e.g., well-designed APIs, high-volume data pipelines, efficient algorithms).
  8. Experience shipping services (products) following the CI/CD development paradigm.
  9. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Desired:

  1. Experience programming in Go or Scala.
  2. Domain expertise in the modern data stack, including cloud-based data solution components and architecture, covering data ingestion, data processing, and data storage.
  3. A track record of successfully leading teams, large projects, or building an important, complex system end-to-end.
  4. Ability to influence and build effective working relationships with all levels of the organization.
  5. Passionate about enabling other developers through your leadership and driving teams toward efficient decisions.

Location 

This role will be remote and based in India.
