Staff Software Engineer

What you get to do in this role:  

• Own and bring to conclusion customer escalations/issues by working with cross-teams in Support, development and operations team
• Represent ITOM Products and ServiceNow effectively with customers and internal stakeholders.
• Manage major customer escalations and communications to internal teams
• Participate in weekend and holiday on-call rotation as required.
• Evaluation of current processes, technology, and organizational skills to identify areas of improvement and opportunities for advancement.
• Leading by example to cultivate and maintain a culture built on teamwork and collaboration.
• Build supportability features in the product

To be successful in this role you have:

• Solid understanding of Java and JavaScript, 6+ years of experience with Java or a similar OO language
• Solid understanding of Linux and bash scripting
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with an aptitude for learning of new technologies
• Passion for troubleshooting & solving complex issues in a microservices architecture
• Build supportability tools/features in product which aids the customer to self troubleshoot issues
• Ability to diagnose issues across the entire technology stack
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to articulate complex technical issues to non-technical audience
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Systems, or equivalent technical discipline, or similar

For positions in the Bay Area, we offer a base pay of $158,500 - $277,500, plus equity (when applicable), variable/incentive compensation and benefits. Sales positions generally offer a competitive On Target Earnings (OTE) incentive compensation structure. Please note that the base pay shown is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies and work location. We also offer health plans, including flexible spending accounts, a 401(k) Plan with company match, ESPP, matching donations, a flexible time away plan and family leave programs (subject to eligibility requirements). Compensation is based on the geographic location in which the role is located, and is subject to change based on work location.
