As a Staff Engineer on the Merchant Business Owner domain, you will work on our Command Center platform. Command Center is a core part of our strategy that allows us to scale access to our applications at a substantially reduced cost compared to traditional approaches. You will play a key role in defining the technical vision and executing on development of our Command Center platform.
Responsibilities:
- Participate in defining technical vision for Command Center
- Have a positive influence on product quality.
- Ensure timely and lossless communication across teams.
- Set and iterate toward world class engineering best practices.
- Contribute to and operationalize automation resulting in improved reliability, repeatability, and product consistency
- Scale software through improvements you and others identify
- Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.
- Collaborate with international teams to ensure successful product development and delivery.
- Help mentor other engineers
Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; Or relevant experience.
- A strong technical background in software engineering and architecture, with experience in modern programming languages
- Ability to work independently with very little direction, identifying and executing on opportunities, and taking full ownership of projects.
- Identifying blind spots, anticipate challenges, and prioritize work effectively
- Exceptional communication and organizational skills.
- Expert in Python, GoLang, or Javascript (Typescript). Full Stack preferred
- Expert in one of MongoDB, PosgreSQL
- Working knowledge of Kubernetes, AWS, Helm, Terraform
- Experience in writing and/or supporting Django, Flask, FastAPI or similar web frameworks
Preferred Qualifications
- 8+ years of relevant experience preferred
- Experience with PHP and GoLang are a plus but not required
- Experience with Distributed Task Queues such as Celery and RabbitMQ is preferred.
- Experience with RDBMS/SQL is also preferred.
- Experience with MongoDB is preferred
- Experience with Terraform is preferred
- Experience with Salesforce is preferred
Compensation:
- Our base pay range starts at $182,000 -$266,000 for this role
- Please note the salary range listed is just one component of a competitive compensation package which includes a company stock plan
- Offers will be reflective of the candidate’s location and experience.
