Position Overview:  

Diligent is looking for a Staff QA Engineer to join our Boards and Leadership Capabilities team and shape the future of GRC with us. Our team is responsible for developing our flagship product Boards and its connected modules. Our applications are used by the highest influential leaders of the globe. Security and quality is exceptionally important in our products so this role has strategic importance.  

The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills and is not intimidated by technical challenges. Love setting up and continuously improving quality processes but still eager to sit together with development teams mentoring them and developing testcases or improving our test frameworks. Be a process and quality geek, but still be hands-on enough to write and  review test scripts, mentor younger test automation engineers. Have a good overview of CI/CD practices and tools and how QA is embedded into it. Be open and curious. 
 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Staff QA Engineer is responsible for implementing and maintaining quality assurance processes throughout the software development life cycle  
  • Owning and maintaining the overall test strategy and QA processes 
  • Optimizes the effectiveness of testing through test automation and continuous test suite refinements  
  • Mentoring colleagues with less experience 
  • Overseeing functional, automated, regression, and exploratory cross-browser manual testing for regular application releases 
  • Occasional creation and execution of test cases, with regular analysis of team’s test results  
  • Ensure all work is carried out and documented in accordance with required standards, methods and procedures to ensure information retention and re-use.  Ensure internal systems are kept up-to-date at all times with the latest activity 
  • Plan and control their own workflow to ensure all deadlines are met and manage their own tasks effectively 
  • Involved in continuous improvement of processes by regularly making improvement recommendations at team retrospectives 

Required Experience/Skills

  • Strong working experience of QA, test concepts, driving best practice, and technology in order to maximise the value delivered by the QA function 
  • Strong leadership, influencing, and collaboration skills  
  • Able to explain and champion the principles of a quality deliverable 
  • Strong test automation experience and ability to choose best fit tools and solutions (We currently use Playwright, Nightwatch, Cypress.io) 
  • Experience of test management tools (e.g. JIRA, QTest) 
  • Experience of working in an Agile development environment 
  • Be passionate about delivering value to our customers 
  • Be an active participant in the procedural and social evolution of the QA team; look for opportunities to add value and bringing the project teams closer together 
  • Be able to think on your feet and handle the pressure of tight deadlines 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, capable of recognising patterns and opportunities for improvement 
  • Excellent organisational, presentation and communication skills 

Preferred Experience/Skills 

  • 10+ years of testing experience 
  • Degree, or equivalent, in Computer Science, Mathematics or similar discipline 
  • ISQTB Advanced Certificate 
  • History of hands-on software development is a plus 
  • SQL query experience 
  • Experience of working in regulated markets
  • Understanding of the “Shift Left” principlein QA 
  • Inquisitive and curious mindset
