What you will be doing:

We are looking for a driven, talented Staff Software Engineer to help us build our SaaS-based anti-money laundering solutions, which empower organisations to fight financial crime! We are building cutting-edge solutions that help create a safer world and stop money from ending up in the hands of criminals.

As a Staff Software Engineer, you will:

Take the helm in designing and architecting our backend systems, ensuring they are robust, scalable, and maintain high quality standards.
Mentor and guide fellow engineers, championing best practices and code quality to elevate the skill set of the entire team.
Engage in lively design discussions, sharing valuable insights, and advocating for effective engineering practices that leave a lasting impact on our projects.
Collaborate closely with diverse teams to ensure our backend solutions are aligned with business objectives and delivered promptly to meet market demands.
Effectively communicate and translate business requirements into technical solutions, bridging the gap between stakeholders and development teams for seamless project execution.

About you

As a Staff Software Engineer, you will:

Tackle intricate backend challenges head-on, devising ingenious solutions to optimize performance and efficiency. Your deep understanding of backend technologies and problem-solving abilities will be crucial in overcoming complex technical hurdles.
Have over 8 years of professional experience, with a strong background in backend development and system design. Your extensive experience will provide valuable insights and guidance as we work towards achieving our goals
Showcase your expertise in Java, Kotlin, or Scala, employing advanced coding patterns and best practices to drive our projects forward. Your proficiency in these languages will ensure the development of robust and scalable solutions.
Show how you lead by in inspiring and motivating engineers, cultivating a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement. Your leadership skills will empower your team members to excel in their roles and contribute to the overall success of our projects.
Utilize testing frameworks like JUnit and Mockito to ensure the reliability and robustness of our software solutions. Your commitment to quality assurance will help maintain the high standards of our products.
Demonstrate proficiency with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) or containerized infrastructure (Kubernetes, Docker), enhancing scalability and flexibility. Your experience with these technologies will enable us to deploy and manage our applications with ease.
Apply your familiarity with databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and more, ensuring seamless data management and accessibility. Your knowledge of database systems will play a crucial role in storing and retrieving data efficiently.

Nice to Haves:

Experience with event-driven systems based on Kafka.
