Why this role is important:
The Staff Satellite Electrical Engineer will participate in all aspects of the development and test of avionics
hardware for E-Space satellites. The ideal candidate has 10+ years of experience in electrical hardware
design including schematic capture, PCB layout, and testing.

This position will report to the Director of Electrical Engineering and will work closely with the Electrical,
Software, and Systems Engineering teams. The successful candidate will be based in our Saratoga, CA office.

What you’ll be doing:
The functions of this role include providing strategic direction and implementation in the following areas:
· Develop PCBA requirements in collaboration with other engineering disciplines.
· Schematic capture and PCB layout using Altium Designer.
· Circuit analysis including power, tolerance, and reliability related.
· PCBA design verification testing and system integration testing.
· Engineering harness design and fabrication.
· Production manufacturing support as needed.

What you bring to this role:
· Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent.
· 10+ years of experience in electrical hardware design including schematic capture, PCB layout, and
testing.
· Design proficiency with processors, FPGAs, switch mode power supplies, high speed data interfaces,
precision analog instrumentation.
· Skilled at schematic capture and layout of complex PCBs.
· Skilled at performing circuit analyses in SPICE and Excel.
· Proficiency with basic electronic lab equipment such as power supplies, oscilloscopes, DMMs, signal
generators, soldering iron, etc.
· Demonstrated success working in a dynamic environment.

Extra points for the following:
Candidates with the following skills or experience will be viewed positively:
· Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent.
· Experience designing for space environments including radiation impacts and mitigation.
· Familiarity with Altium Designer
· RF and transmission line design and simulation skills.
· Experience designing rigid-flex PCBs and general electro-mechanical design familiarity.
· FPGA design skills.
· Embedded software development skills for ARM core processors.

The estimated base salary range for this role is $50,000 - $180,000 per year. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position in question, which is based on market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based on location, skills and expertise, depth of relevant experience, and other relevant factors.
